Acer Aspire 5500 powers off suddenly ..help !!

I have 3 yrs old Acer Aspire 5500. Battery is very weak and lasts for only 10-15 mins. I have taken battery out and now running Laptop on direct AC mains ...but the prob is that after 30 mins or 1 hr its too much heated from below and suddenly powers off even while AC mains are on ..

Can u help me in troubleshooting and correcting this prob

get the laptop cleaned or buy a laptop cooler.

btw, monitor temperatures using speedfan or everest ultimate.

whats a laptop cooler ? Speedfan always show HDD temp as 57C/60C ....so what to do
