8GB vs 16GB RAM

If you had to choose between a laptop that had max RAM of 8GB (cheaper) vs another one with provision to upgrade to 16 GB (costlier), whould it make sense to shell out more money to get the 16GB one?

it depends on your requirement and for how long u are planning to keep it. if its mid level usage and u intend to keep it for 2 -3 years, i feel 8gb would be sufficient.

I see no one who is using 16GB in laptop. And personally I use 8GB RAM that is more than enough for the hardcore use, It barely uses 6GB out of 8GB.

8GB will be more than enough, you won't be able to utilise even that also.
No fun of opting for 16GB
