Right off the assembly line
hi,
I just bought a ASUS 1225c netbooks and installed Windows 7 32 bit on it. 720P video is stuttering on it. What should I do to run it smoothly?

what player are you using & which graphics chipset your netbook has(intel gma or radeon)?if it is intel gma then even a dual core atom can not handle high bitrate h264 720p videos.for more helpful answers post your netbook exact specs & details of video file you are facing problem with(use mediainfo to know audio/video bitrates) along with media player you are using.

You probably need to install video drivers, especially after a fresh install of Windows 7..
if you have already done so, then try clearing a couple of programs and use VLC player

Back to school!!
Shut down some heavy hitting background process, atom dual cores are taxed 80-90% when playing 720p videos.

your cpu should be able to handle this file.when you are playing this file in a small window open task manager & see cpu usage.if it is hitting 100% repeatedly then you need to close/end some task which are cpu consuming.an easy way to test this is restart your netbook & after 4-5 minutes open task manager(don't open/launch anything).the cpu usage should be ~10% or lower.if it is true then immediately launch player to play file.if it is still stuttering then try some other player like vlc or mpc-hc or pot player.

P.S.delete/edit the name of the file(rename it to something like abc) as piracy stuff is not allowed here.

I'd say, DON'T USE VLC. Use MPC-HC with appropriate codecs according to your needs. I have a Pentium 4 on a secondary PC, and it plays 10bit 1080p videos quite well.
