4K resolution is the new standard in digital cinematography - which effectively doubles both vertical and horizontal resolution - thus resulting into 4 times the total screen resolution of 'standard' HD. To the best of my knowledge, only three television models are currently available that supports 4K resolutions. The Panasonic TV model has huge 150 inch plasma screen and the 5 lakh dollar price tag is more of an academic achievement. Toshiba has one model - called Regza 55X3. And LG has one 4K TV - the 84LM9600. LG is also expected to introduce a 4K variant of its revolutionary OLED TV by 2013-2014.
