High without substance...
I posted this query in the bazzar section but i do not know why i could not see it again.

Now my query is that i need to buy a 4GB pen drive. I was looking for transend. its nice i have been using the 1 Gb and 2 Gb varients for a year now. But the data transfer of 1Gb is faster than that of the 2Gb.

can you please suggest any good make which offers fast data transfer.

thank you

Transcend is the slowest pen-drive i have ever seen, next is iball super duper ultra light weight.

Man i have a ZION 1gb pendrive using it for around 2yrs, and found no other drive to beat it reagarding speed. I haven't used kingstone though, hope it will be faster than my zion.

I have tested 700mb file in realtime and recorded the time on a stop watch.
Transfer time taken single 700mb avi file:
1gb Transcend = 3 m 43 sec
1gb Iball = 3 m 28 sec
1gb Zion = 1 m 1 sec

Transfer time taken Visual Basic 6 cd contents(600mb aprox):
1gb Transcend = 28 m 31 sec
1gb Iball = 24 m 9 sec
1gb Zion = 6 m 45 sec

Clearly here Zion wins, As Zion is not available i think Kingston is the better choice.

After going through Hackattack post I tested my 1 GB Zion and 1 GB Moser Baer, here are the details:

File: 699 MB Avi

Moser Baer : 1 Min 51 Sec

Zion: 2 Min 38 Sec

In my case Moser Baer seems to outperform Zion plus its Hot Removable, which means you can remove it when you want it without going though the hassles of safely removing it.

Are u sure about those results, cos i transfered the file like 6-7 times on my zion and i was getting the same time 1 m 1 sec(0-2sec approx difference).

If thats true than does it matter with PC config, this is serious.
My rigg is not fast at all. p4-1.8ghz, 40+80gbpata, 256mbram etc.

Undoubtedly then moser baer is faster.

I am excited and really want to see some more similar comparisons of different brands.

And yup san-disk is the best.

Well, that was just one time for testing it. I will try it multiple times and then update you.

Btw anyone having sandisk please post your results.

i dont remember the exact figures, but my sandisk cruzer is way faster than my transcend v30 series. if u want high speed drives in transcend, look out for the 110 series.
