Thin and Light; 12" - 14" screen Preferred, provided if comes under my budget.
Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen.


3) What are the primary tasks you will be performing with this notebook? : Movies, Casual Games, Internet


4) Any typical configuration in your mind you're eying for ? : i5, Good Processor over Dedicated Graphics Card, Good Battery Life (important), avoiding AMD's APU.


5) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like? : None

Screen resolution : 1080p (Full HD) )
Battery back up : Extended (5-7hrs) Preferred
Purchase place : Online - flipkart, Snapdeal

Looking to buy it in next 5-7 days.
500 GB Hard Disk would do, because I'll be buying portable one. Nevertheless, 1 TB wont hurt.
DOS, Linux system would be preferred if they bring the cost down.
Aesthetically, the laptop should be top notch (keyboard button size and spacing/superior trackpad/Anti Glare Screen)

B590's keyboard is ok. Don't go by failkart's images.

Z50 is always a good choice.

Its almost twice as heavier than Asus and has an enormous footprint. The lappy is for my sister, portability and looks overshadow components. Besides, the difference in GPU is really not that much.

Any other reason one might consider to go for Z50 are most welcome here, as I'm still open to discussion between these two.

^ thats the same Z50 in silver colour
2.4 kg isn't much weight. anybody can carry it around easily
Asus one is 2.2 kg. the difference is 200 grams and Z50 isn't almost twice as heavier than Asus

Are you slow or something? I know it is Z50, but different series.
The one I was speaking of was this model which supposedly weighs around 3.9 kgs. So unless the data given on amazon is fcuked up, its a big no-no. If not, then this conversation is pointless.

And it is not "just the same Z50 in silver colour". I know you are trying to help but please scroll down couple of pages, will ya?
It has 1080p on 820M (probably, man whats wrong with this websites). Also, this one shows to be 2.4 kgs.

How does it compare against Asus?
I think I'll short list these two.
Lenovo Z50-70 (59-429623) and Asus X550LD-XX064D
and go to town and personally check both of them.

Somewhere it states 2.4 kg and somewhere 3.9
Since I don't have a laptop showroom and weighing scale, I can't tell the actual weight. mid range laptops rarely cross 2.6 kg
