Smart people clean install Windows after getting a laptop. It's what I have always done. It was a bit tricky getting 8/8.1 official isos but now you can download 8.1 isos from Create installation media for Windows 8.1 - Windows Help and it will detect your key from your laptop firmware if it came with genuine windows (as long as you download the right edition). Install drivers and you are free from manufacturer bloat and stuff like this. You also get to setup your partitions however you want.
