I finally installed ubuntu and thinking of settling on it :) Have few queries..
1. I don't have my monitor resolution set up correctly... I installed latest ATI 9.1 from ATI Site created deb and installed..
Now what I initialize it from Accessories it says

can someone provide me a generic xorg.conf optimized for NVIDIA graphics card.
It should have support for higher resolution i.e. 1280x1024 for a 17' CRT monitor.

I thought it would be really helpful to share our xorg.conf file along with the grahics card, monitor name and Distro.
1) just run this command in terminal
cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf > xorg.txt
2) Attach the xorg.conf file created in Home directory here.

Many users other than Linux experts find themselves in a quandary as far
as editing the xorg.conf file is concerned. The German forum Ubuntuusers.de
have developed a GUI tool for Ubuntu called Xorg-Edit to configure the xorg.conf file.
