updation

I've a ASUS P5LD2-VM Series motherboard. Its a 945 chipset motherboard. How can I know if their is a BIOS update available or not and if there is then how can I update my BIOS?

I have HP PSC 1400. Drivers are installed. Device is running up. Kernel is latest updated on 8/5/07. Before updation, printing worked. Now not working. Desktop Environment=XFCE4+GNOME Print cmd accepted but no action.

I am using Windows XP Home SP2 Edition. I would like to know what are the new updates are available, from Microsoft, after this Edition. Moreover, Is there any way to do updation of this OS automatically when we are online OR maual downloading is better? How to do it?
