extention

i have file with .mdf extention how to open it?

HIDE FILES/FOLDER IN A SUCURE MANNER WIHOUT ANY SOFTWARE HIDING STEPS - 1. Right click on the file/folder that u want to hide then Send to ->New Compressed (zipped) Folder 2.Change the file extention from *.zip to anything or nothing (like xzy.zip to xyz/xyz.dll/xyz.pdf/xyz.doc/etc)...

I want to change the extention of a word file to exe but i cant by just renaming it. It can be done by going in dos mode and using rename command but there must be a way to directly change the extention in XP. Is there any way i can do it?

some of the folders in one of the drives got converted into files of size 16kb with no extention. if the folder name was nokia which had some content in it, mainly multimedia, got converted into a file with the same name that is nokia, with no file extention....... please help.
