amv

I just got a local mp3 player 1 gb capability to play wma, mps, show jpg photos and play amv video. Is there an utility in linux to convert vcds (dat files) to amv?

I had purchased one MP4 player through E-bay.There was no manual alongwith.The player contains some AMV files,which I cannot play in my computers media players, eg winamp,VLC,WMP etc (after USB connection) Anyone pliz help.
