Will a DVD or Dual Layer DVD Writer work on a computer with Pentum 3 500Mhz, 256MB RAM and OS Windows XP? :?:

Hi I searched the forum and was not able to find this and that is why I am asking it here, so don't get angry. I have a very VERY old PC. Intel Pentium II 500MHz, 96 MB ram. Is there any possible way to make it a little fast by overclocking? It takes almost 15 minutes for Win XP to boot...
