for under 8k, try and get your hands on 5230, its better than 5233, with 3g support and gps.

i agree that resistive touch is less responsive, but with capacitive touch, I can't use anything except my fingers...so if I receive a call while having lunch I would rather have resistive. Ideally, I would love capacitive's responsiveness with resistive's utility...
As for 5230 being worse than...
nokia 6303 sounds good. If you can extend your budget a bit, then u can be get 5230 or 5233, two wonderful touchscreen phones with excellent photo quality!! I think they are in the 7-9k bracket.
