Hey dude dont forget smps supplies power to all computer parts including harddisk. So could be improper power supply through power cable...............

@cyrux No sata and pata combinations donot create any problems... However problems come when there is some problem with mobo... One of my friend had similar problem and when we went to service center, we were told that the sata connector had developed the problem... I didnt want to mention...

Go to "X:\WINNT\repair\" and copy the file called "system" to "X:\winnt\system32\config\"

In first case it is the shortcut saved in recent history of windows everytime u access any file... So u can delete it... In second case it is an extension of files... I seems u have installed and unistalled a software that used these extensions... U can delete them but to be safer let them be...
