Adding to my question, just to understand a little bit more, just looked up on the MSI H97 PC Mate board. That also seems to support SATA 3 only and not SATA 6 Gb/s.
Update: Read up a little on SATA 6/ SATA 3. So the question remaining is:
Any other board/ brand in that range like Asus or GB...
Thanks Sunil. I am assembling one. And I will either go with an i3 or FX 6300/4300 depending on the mobo + cpu + gpu budget. Hence asking.
The usage will be for mainly - web development, Hadoop - Big data programming and other coding and GPGPU programming.
Hence RAID is needed for crtitical...
Friends
Is there a Intel Mobo with RAID in the 5-6K budget range? I am looking for 4 RAM slots also. HDMI port is +/-.
I have found the latter two conditions satisfied in a couple of boards (H81/B85) etc., But they lack RAID.
But when I move to RAID, the price climbs up to 10K or so. (like...
Great and short review. Thanks.
The 551s have a single fan unlike their ROG big bros (17"ers) or the earlier 550s. But strangely enough, according to reviews the single fan seems to be doing a better job than the dual fans of 550s. Definitely, the dual fan design in G750xx is in a different...
Night-Rider Since you own a G551. Is it an IPS panel? How is the cooling? How is the performance?
Is it VFM and how would you compare that with a Lenovo Y50?
Thanks.
Checked the India G551 - That is 850M DDR3 and 8 GB Memory @ 82-88K.
Whereas the US GL551 comes with 860M DDR5 and 16GB Memory @ 62-68K. Hence the temptation

I did some searching and found a BioStar - P4MP900 VIA based board in Biostar website. Also I saw some 845 based boards in the Biostar site.
Would you advise going for this.? Not sure if this available though. But P4MP900 is listed in the dealer's page.
One of my old system's D845GVSR Intel board died. The technician also said it can't be repaired.
The processor is Celeron 2.4 GHz.
I think it only supports IDE HDD. I recently (6 months ago) purchased an IDE disk.
What is the best replacement board to go for? Do I go for D845 again(it...

Hi Guys
One of my friend wants a laptop to run Maya 3D animation software.
His budget is 30- 40k.
- Monitor: Better if it supports wide-screen, since it is used for animation
- No preference on Brand
- Long battery life as animation program has to run overnight and if the power goes out the...

Hi
I just built a E4600 with Intel DG33FB config a month back.
I have to build a cheap and no-frills but reliable build to someone. Money is a key constraint...Lookign for cheaper than my previous build with E4600 and DG33
This time around I am not particular on Intel. AMD would also do. I am...
