dunno abt hiding the PC on LAN, but u can surely hide the data u share..... terminate the name of the shared directory with a '$' sign to make that directory invisible to other LAN users accessing ur comp. Only programs like 'netscan' can see that directory. I hope ur parents don't use that...

I have an Acer travelmate 240 notebook specs are: P4 2 GHz , 256 MB RAM, i often play Quake 3 on that . Earlier it used to show an FPS of around 90 but since 1 month, after around 15 mins. of play the FPS drops to 30-40 ....... I used 'mobmeter' to know the temp ....it rises to around...

use total recorder.........before running the game , start it........and then every sound will be recorded ......... edit it using goldwave to extract music file......... and u r done !!!! ensure u have enough HD space !!!!
