    System hangs when i try to access DVD drive

    My system gets hanged when i put a cd/dvd in DVD drive (LG). Earlier there was problem with DVDs alone. Now I am unable view even the ordinary CDs. But my drive works without any problem when my cpu is kept horizontal. Where the problem must be ? Please help me. Thanks in advance.

    DVD writer works with Linux & Win 98 but not with Win XP

    I have brought a Sony DVD Writer(OEM).I works well with Win 98 and Linux.But it is not working when in Win XP. I can see it as DVD-RAM Drive inside XP.But I am unable to read or write cd/dvd from this drive. Plz help me get rid of this problem. Thanks a lot. Madhu.
