General Query How to contact real customer support agent - Amazon?

Hi,
As the title suggests I have a hard time finding the option to actually connect to a real support agent on Amazon.
It seems they have removed that option.

I tried both web site and app but no luck.
Does anyone know how do to it.
Earlier it would open a chat window and then I would tell AI to connect me with an agent but looks like they have removed the chat window itself now.

call their toll free no : 1800-1200-1571 and select the appropriate option

This is the way i spoke to one of their agents recently-i too couldn't find the option to chat/speak to their representative which were available earlier under the customer service menu in the app/website-why they have removed it really baffles me!

I finally managed to get connected to an agent on chat. The the trick I followed is I asked Rufus (Amazon AI) that I want to chat with an agent and it replied with a link.
After nearly going in endless loop of 'No Something Else' for nearly 3 - 4 minutes I finally got connected to the agent.

But he vented out his frustration on me that he is simultaneously chatting with 3 more customers and I should wait. There was no consideration in his responses. They were very dry and scripted.
Looks like Amazon has done a major cost cutting?? Are we losing jobs to AI and at the cost of poor quality of service??

TBH I really hate this trend of everyone delegating their CC tasks to some chatbot. IMO they do this simply to discourage customers to complain or to discourage potential returns or cancellations. Some chatbots won't even allow you to speak to a human.

Yes that's another aspect but I guess cost cutting is also part of it. In the end the end customer does not get quality of service.
I finally managed to return my faulty product. Also I believe the fitness for purpose is lacking in most products these days.
I bought a travel adapter which was just not stable on EU plug. Poor design after all yet very high price!

I have not tried yet, because I managed to get connected to human agent thru Rufus AI of Amazon and finally managed to initiate return.
But have noted that number. Thx
