Your monitor should support FHD @50Hz input.
As long as the montor has HDMI input you should be able to use the OTT part from set to box. For TV channels to work there monitor should at least partially support PAL unit.

However, TV channels video will jump up and down on a monitor. Only a true TV will be able to play TV channels without the jumping effect.

Since I do not use TV Channels from my Cable TV operator(now rejected/cancelled) but through the Android Set Top Box as provided by Alliance, will that adhere to the jumping effect of TV channels as described by you?

The built-in speakers on PC Monitors (if available) are hopelessly bad. I guess even laptop speakers are better than that!

So make sure the model that you choose has a provision to connect to external speakers/soundbar etc. Good if your android box separately outputs audio in case?

I had once (Somewhere in 2023) opted for Acer DA240Y because it has 2 HDMI and also comes to remote that allows switching between sources remotely, but the product was faulty so I returned it.

I did not notice any flicker between switching channels from STB.

Since I did not find any other good option in 24” monitor (to be used as a TV) with remote, 2 HDMI inputs and Audio out, I got my old Philips 24” FHD TV repaired for higher cost and I am still using it. Sadly no one makes 24” FHD TVs anymore.

Generally speaking TV is designed and optimized for TV viewing and PC Monitor is more suitable of PC Graphics card output, but they can be interchangeably used with minor limitations. (HDMI input). When you use FHD monitor with Graphics card, the default resolution is set to 1080. But when I use my FHD TV as monitor, by default the resolution falls back to fail safe 1366x768 even though initial display resolution is set to FHD in BIOS, Just as an example.

Depends on what is the output.
1080i will jump
1080p will be stable

Thankfully, the Android Set Top Box (DTP9731)comes with an audio port for speakers.

The monitor that I shall buy, not the LG one mentioned above(but a 24" Monitor)...has 1080p resolution.
So, hopefully that will be okay, isn't it???

If the monitor does not support 1080i and the box outputs only 1080i you will not get any video.

From the manual of LG 27Ml600 FHD 27"....Self Troubleshooting steps.

The screen is flickering.
Did you select the recommended resolution? • If the selected resolution is HDMI 1080i 60/50 Hz, the screen may be flickering. Change the resolution to the recommended resolution 1080P.

As such my STB is capable of outputting both i as well as p. Either ways I did not face any flicker though. It was 60Hz monitor.

VGA is outdated now. I would suggest you to get Benq 24" ips fhd 100hz monitor which has 2 hdmi and 1 dp. It works with DTH. Has ambient light sensor and dedicated input switch button on the front panel. I have the same. It will cost you around 8k. I bought for 10k (c kat gaya mera offline store me)

Who goes for VGA? I do have 3~4 HDMI to HDMI male connector cables. So where is the issue? Moreover,LG makes good panels for TV as well as Monitors.

That monitor that you linked had one vga port. If you're not going to use more than 2 inputs then sure, go for it.
