Hi I have a system running Windows XP, where in the system sounds have stopped working. The PC still plays MP3, .wav (through media player) files etc. but if I go in to Control panel, in the Sounds area, I cannot play the system sounds there as the play buttons are greyed out. Please help...

I'm using Nero 7.....and also Roxio EMC 9... nd the medium is Moser Baer 4x DVD+RWs nd also tried 16x DVD+Rs But this problem wasn't there earlier... So no possibility of softwares causing the problems..
