  • Ok, thanks for ur help.
I will inform u my status when i assemble my parts.
    Thanks
On the top of the disc it must be written something like SATA3Gbps or SATA6Gbps.
On mine its written SATA3Gbps. Its written in very small letters.
I am without a PSU now. So, i can only check it after i get a PSU for my rig.
BTW what's written on your HDD. Is it written that its SATA3 or 6Gbps..
Plz check it and help me.
But how is ur warranty till 5/6/2014. Its not yet June. I think yours is untill 5/4/2014.
But my warranty is till 22/1/2014 where as i bought it on 13/4/2014.
Yes, i will definitely inform u when they reply me back.
BTW did you send them a mail..??
You mean ur HDD has warranty for 2 months only. How is that possible..??? All the drives have a min warranty of 3yrs. So, plz check it again.
    If u r using the HDD on a sata1 i.e 1.5Gbps, then u can really note a difference.
But again its about being given wrong info about the drive.
I have already sent them a complaint mail and lets see what they reply.
No, u cant really say that. 1. There is lot difference between SATA2 and SATA3. The later provides twice the bandwidth speed than the former.
    2. BTW will u be using it in the SATA2 port or a SATA3 port..???
    3. And its actually is not a matter of getting SATA2 or SATA3 but its about being provided wrong information by the manufacturer.
Thats the very same model which i too have.
When i unscrewed my HDD its written on it in small letters that its SATA 3Gbps. I had to search a lot to find this as its written in small letters.
BTW did u register ur product at WD's website. If u do so then u will need to enter ur sl.no. Then ur product will be shown with all details.
Register it here and see if its SATA2 or SATA3.

Yes, here in BBSR is the same case too. But after searching a lot i managed to find a WDC Blue 500GB. The dealer was even not accepting it for anything less than 1.85k, but after bargaining a lot i managed to get it at 1.8k.
When i compared the model no. at WDs site I found it to be a SATA3 HDD but when i checked with my sl no. I found that its a SATA2 HDD.
So, can u plz check and inform me if your's is SATA2 or SATA3. Its even mentioned on the HDD itself. On my HDD its mentioned SATA2 i.e 3Gbps.
    Hi,
I want to know about the HDD which u have bought recently. You claim that its SATA3 i.e 6Gbps but i also have the very same model which i had bought on 13.4.2011 but its clearly written that its SATA2 i.e 3Gbps. Then how is it that u got a SATA3 drive at 1.75k.
