I found the same product on Amazon here, but I also wanted to check what your recommendations would be on a refurbished motherboard, and refurbished or not, will this be better: Asus ROG Strix H370-F Gaming available here
Just out of curiosity, what would be an ideal budget and ideal motherboard you would recommend for the rest of my config?
Also, thank you so much for the recommendation once again, just wanted to see how much more I'd have to spend, to get what is the ideal mobo
Thank you so much for the recommendation. I did a bit of reading on this mobo and its an entry level board. I completely agree with the fact that my budget is kind of low at the moment, but I just wanted to check if this will support the full CPU Turbo Boost range and not throttle it. I have no...
I've been noticing some random PC crashes, that for some reason I attributed to my CPU overheating because the side of my case gets hot. Since I thought of this self-diagnosed heating issue, I made the bad decision to replace the thermal paste on my processor in case it wasn't...
Thanks for that clarification. I've put together a config that I hope works. Please clarify.
I've chosen the MSI board as I wasn't able to find the Gigabyte board online. This MSI board should work with Skylake processors, including the i3 6100.
Also, I know I said I already have a display...
Thanks for all the suggestions folks. I've put together a mish-mash of all the 3 configs suggested and I'll need your advice on whether this will work properly together and is worthwhile going for.
I'm sorry for the image. I couldn't figure out how to format the content as a table.
I'm mistaken about the motherboard details, but here is where I understood the processor incompatibility from here. The RAM specifications here did not seem to match with the CPU Boss guidelines on what the processor supports.
Thanks SaiyanGoku and bsunilreddy for your responses. I now have a few questions on the Skylake build.
1) The RAM specified is a DDR4 2000+ MHz 288-pin RAM whereas the motherboard and processor only support DDR3 1600MHz 240-pin RAM. Am I misunderstanding something here?
2) I'm also curious...
First of all, thanks for your reply. I have to apologise, I didn't get a chance to reply to you earlier. I have a few follow-up questions. I hope you don't mind.
At the outset, I'm fine with everything but I have a few alternative thoughts for the processor and mobo.
1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Office work - Multiple browsers and/tabs open. Casual Gaming...
Thanks for your feedback. Sorry I wasn't able to respond earlier. I've been coming home late from work for a while now.
As usual, I come with questions:
1) Anyone know where I can buy the Xeon CPU from (locally in Chennai or online)?
2) Is this what is being referred to as the...
Thanks for your reply Aditya! I have some comments of my own:
1) Do you really think a 520W PSU will be sufficient?
2) Just out of curiosity:
2.1) What is the difference between the Intel Xeon and Core i5 suggested here, apart from the facts that the Xeon supports Hyperthreading and the Core i5...
I'm planning to build a decent gaming rig within the next 2 weeks. I need some help in finding out what would be the best bang for my buck for the below specifications
I've filled in the PC configuration questionnaire:
1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and...
