@Nerevarine thanks, but the issue is resolved. I read somewhere that in your monitor settings, switching to DisplayPort version 1.2 instead of 1.4 resolved the issue. It worked for me.

For 2k at 144 Hz, do check if your GPU or laptop can support it. My MacBook Pro 16 supports 4k @ 60 fps max so I just discarded all the other high refresh rate options.

@TheSloth I'd have loved an ultrawide but all models under 40k were were just 1080p models (2560 x 1080). 1080p is just too low a resolution these days.
