    Simple way to identify : if your HDD is connected to Mobo with a white belt like cable then it is PATA (IDE) & it is connected with sleek (mostly red) cable then it is SATA. most Mobo old or new support Min. 4 drives. so i dont think there is any issue of it. i will suggest if you have PATA...
