I am not familiar with different monitors. I own a acer 27inch 1440p monitor

For using a monitor with Mac, is having usb c port mandatory or should it be apple certificied?

also look for IPS mointors while searching
movies/colors look good on IPS

 is futuristic, trendsetter, everyone copies them.
That emoji shows up as an empty rectangle . Also, USB-C has been in production since 2014, years before Apple was forced to adapt it.
Port-less phones is a retarded design decision. BTW, lets not get too off topic, just refer to Rtings and monitors unboxed on youtube for a better recommendation in your budget.

Again, you'd need to get a dongle for your laptop or settle for not so good monitor with USB-C passthrough charging support.

Seems like you have never used any mac or iphone. You can't understand the whole point of USB-C on macbook to monitor thing, it charges macbook while connecting unlike outdated HDMI dongle setup. Anyways thanks!

I have tried Apple's e-waste in various stores and immediately felt the need to throw them in the garbage. I also revived a dead 2011 27" iMac in spite of the obstacles put by Apple. My work involves developing and testing firmware on upcoming devices which have USB-C as the only port on it and HDMI will be the industry standard for the foreseeable future not only for monitors but also for consoles, projectors and TVs even though display port is better.

Again, you'd either have to compromise on the actual panel for USB-C support or increase your budget to accommodate Apple's retarded design decision to exclude a basic port on lower class products.
