Hi all,
It has been 11+ years with my PC and am finally looking to upgrade at the earliest. My system is frequently giving blue screens and multiple new HD are failing when connected in additional ports. Existing graphic card of sapphire Radeon gave up itself long back even without proper use.

Budget - <= 1.2 lakh

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.' Vague answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work.)
Ans: Not an avid gamer. Will most likely play once in a while. Interested in games like Assassin's Creed Valhalla, WWE 2k, Hitman 3 and would like to future proof w.r.to any new system demanding games. Regular applications and intend to use it for multi tasking. Will do encoding at times for my personal videos.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then please mention.
Ans: looking at 1 lakh or can extend higher as well for balanced.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 10 or 11

5. How much hard drive / solid-state drive space is needed?
Ans: Only OS specific - 1 TB. Have existing SATA drives.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention the screen size and resolution you prefer. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, then do mention the screen size and resolution of the monitor you have.
Ans: Yes. Looking at at-least 24 inches and 2k resolution or something future proof. Prefer 27 inch as well. Also ok with FHD. Only need is sharper details and accurate colors. Am using existing BenQ 21.5 inches FHD monitor that can give 60 Hz. This is also old monitor.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy? i.e. which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: SATA drives.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Within a week or 2

9. Have you ever built a desktop before? Or, will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Assembler support needed

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Hyderabad, Telangana. I prefer local market. But am ok to buy online as well if the price is same or reasonable

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Would like to future proof my system. Prefer DDR5 RAM and MOBO. Was thinking of below config. Is aircooler really needed?
Am particular about iGPU as a mandate. Hence need processors with graphics in case the GPU fails later and i need system to continue.

Intel i5 13400 or 13600k (Ok with 13400 if it is decent and it also has bundled cooler)
MSI B760 series (Need Value for Money and don't need all high end features if any)
RTX 3060 Ti (Expensive and not sure if its really needed) - Need to decide
Pls suggest good RAM, bare minimum good VFM graphic card, PSU and case as well

AMD R5 7600 based rig:
pcpricetracker.in/b/s/1f737354-9aad-4653-ab01-a2df8d6fbe65

Pro:
- Futureproof AM5 rig, can consider just upgrading CPU later towards end of AM5 lifecycle to get a big performance jump without spending on mobo

Con:
- Raw CPU performance lower than i5 13500

Intel rig:
Get i5 13500 based instead of 13400 or 13600K, DDR5 mobos are expensive though with fewer good budget options. You can't get the cheapest DDR5 B660M because of high power draw of i5 13500 & poor VRM of cheap mobos.
pcpricetracker.in/b/s/5b964457-39bf-41bf-ad81-c382946c868a

Con here is lack of upgrade path. Not an issue if you won't even remotely consider a CPU upgrade & just upgrade the whole system.

Monitor: Gigabyte M27Q rev 2.0 is a great 1440p monitor under 25k (don't get rev 1.0).

Thanks a lot for the quick response. Am leaning towards Intel only considering my exiting i5-2500k has been running strong since 11+ years.
I don't frequently upgrade my machine. Unless something fails, i don't usually replace or buy a new one. But yes, if something is re-usable, will surely be happy.

Also any B760 MOBO instead of 660 series to avoid BIOS flash? 660 doesn't have PCI 5.0

Most mobo support USB BIOS flash w/o a CPU installed

Hello, am finally eyeing this configuration. Pls suggest if its fine or make any better value propositions.
Also need a good graphics card and monitor capable of 1440p. Did lot of research for DDR5 and not much price difference but heard lower speed of DDR5 will have almost same performance as DDR4 3200. Hence considering DDR4 to save some bucks. Pls recommend otherwise.

Intel Core i5-13500 2.5 GHz 14-Core Processor (need integrated graphics mandatorily and won't be considering 13600k as its overkill, not keen to use 13400 )
Deepcool AK400 66.47 CFM CPU Cooler - Air cooler (Was also considering Noctua D15 but its damn expensive. Not keen on AIO or liquid coolers)
MSI MAG B760 TOMAHAWK WIFI DDR4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard (Selected this for DDR4 due to features and build)
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory - RAM (Selected this due to price)
Western Digital Black SN770 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME - SSD
MSI MPG A850GF 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply - PSU (Was also considering Corsair RM850e, Cooler master MDE 850 or V2 850)
Lian Li O11 Air Mini ATX Mid tower - Cabinet (Need some good looking stealth professional cabinet with good air flow with at-least 4 HDD bays and 3 M2, front USB-C ports - Phantek P600s is a favourite but not affordable. Also liked Antec P10C, P101 due to their budget and matching my needs. NZXT doesn't have more HDD bays and cost is high. Cooler master new TD500 V2 also doesn't have the required features for me. Pls suggest any good option here as i had to select this as it was different looking and cube like with required features)

Will need to buy a reliable graphics card (not immediately) that will stay tight for few years at-least as my earlier radeon went dead within few years without even 10% use in games. Am preferring Intel Arc770 due to its price. Pls suggest any alternatives as well. Budget for it is maximum 400-450 USD as it will cross 550-600 USD in indian price.

Are you buying in US? Mention total budget & put that pcpartpicker link with https removed from link.

Your usage? Pure gaming?

DDR5 prices are coming down, so can be considered. Get 32GB RAM as games like Hogwarts Legacy stutters more with 16GB RAM at 1440p.

Parts in general looks good but you are likely overspending on mobo. Either go DDR5 or get MSI B660M A Pro WiFi DDR4 if you are saving money.

Cabinet - I don't like O11 like cabinets, so don't know much about them. I use Lian Li Lancool II Mesh. Check case reviews of Gamers Nexus & Hardware Canucks.

For 1440p, 6700XT or 3060Ti is the minimum you need IMO. I will prefer former because of 12GB VRAM. Games are more unoptimised for PC, so RT is useless & more VRAM is needed for 1440p max textures. I use 3070 at 1440p and 8GB VRAM is not enough for 1440p max textures in games like FH5 & Hogwarts.

Monitor - In India I recommend Acer XV272U KV easily. Check rtings.com for reviews & even Hardware Unboxed.

Gigabyte B760M AORUS ELITE AX (rev. 1.0)
G.Skill F5-6000J3636F16GX2-RS5K Desktop Ram Ripjaws S5 Series 32GB (16GBx2) DDR5 6000MHz
Western Digital Black SN770 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME - SSD
Adata XPG Core Reactor 850 Watt SMPS 80 Plus Gold Certification Fully Modular PSU With Active PFC
Lian Li O11 Air Mini ATX Mid tower - Cabinet (Coming with 10k INR in India)

Above is the updated configuration. Use case - Mostly browsing, office work, content creation capable, very occasional gaming (Mostly into shooters and action adventures like Hitman, Red dead redemption, GTA etc.,). Also should be able to play old games from 2002-2018 as well in similar genre. I don't upgrade my PC usually and hence would like it to be powerful enough for the next few years like my current build done more than a decade ago. Would like my system to be capable to play latest and greatest at good quality.

Pls suggest if this is fine.

Parts look good except for cooler. Get AG620 or AK620 as i5 13500 can draw upto 150W or so, if I remember correctly. Ambient temps are high in India, so better get a good cooler.

Use pcpricetracker if buying in India, they are the replacement for pcpartpicker for us.

For a ~130k system, those parts + 6700XT is good for 1440p gaming & content creation. Next jump up in GPU is 6800XT that costs 60k, but that will exceed your budget quite a bit.

Monitor - acer XV272UKV - frequently goes OOS, so buy this first if you have finalised the purchase.

Thank you. Considering the below final configuration, Pls suggest some good fans also. Will need 3 more 120mm and 2 more 140 mm fans. This case comes with 3 pre-installed fans.

  1. Intel Core i5-13500 2.5 GHz 14-Core Processor
  2. Deepcool AK620 CPU Cooler - Air cooler
  3. Gigabyte B760M AORUS ELITE AX (rev. 1.0)

Do you have any specific budget for fans? You can buy fans from Noctua but they are expensive.
I am using Arctic fans and I am satisfied with it's performance. If your room is extremely quiet then you will hear the noise from fans when PC is under load. I have a ceiling fan in my house which drowns all the noise from PC fans so Arctic fan noise doesn't bother me. They also have 140mm option.
Edit-
I added the link here for text but forgot the links are not working.

Lower CL is better for same frequency. 6000 C36 vs 6000 C38 vs 5600 C36 seems like your options, if same price, get 6000 CL36.

PSU - get the cheaper one, both are tier A

Arctic P12 & P14 are great. P14 is available for 800-900, but sadly P12s are out of stock (used to be under 600 per fan). Look at Deepcool or Cooler Master options for 120mm.

Available ones are DDR5 6000 C40, 5600 C40, 5600 C36, 6000 CL36 (Higher price may be but not clear as sites won't have details like in US)
Will get PSU from MSI or Adata as you confirmed.

Thank you sir.

Check prices, most websites like prime, vedant, md do mention freq & latency.

6000 CL40 should be fine.
