Phone recommendation under 30k

1. Budget?
Under 30k.
2. Display type and size?
As small/compact as possible, under 6.67" and 1080p OLED is a must. Do not care about refresh rate.
3. Dual sim?
Optional, but almost all phones come with that now.
4. Preferred choice of brand?
Motorola. Ignore all BBK group phones.
5. What camera option you want (flash, front facing camera)?
OIS, 1080p60 video, gcam support, ultrawide
6. Preferred operating system? (Android, iOS,Stock Android etc).
Stock-ish android 12 preferred, OneUI is fine. Would debloat the phone using ADB anyway. Expecting at least 2 android updates. If none of these are there, phone must have custom roms.
7. Preferred connectivity options (Dual 4G,802.11AC/5Ghz(not 5g mobile network) wifi).
Must have VoLTE, ViLTE, carrier aggregation, 3.5 mm jack. 5G support is a plus but not required.
8. Primary use of handset (multimedia, camera, internet, gaming etc)?
Would be using it as primary phone for calls, camera, media viewing, social media and banking apps. No gaming or high power usage.
9. Any specific mobile phones in consideration?
Moto G82, Edge 30 (but lacks 3.5 mm jack and has small battery), basically any phone with Qualcomm SoC is good.
10. Any other info that you want to share
Just got to know that Poco X3 pro has random bricking issue. So, I'm planning to exchange my old Oneplus 3 with a newer phone. Would not change it for another 4-6 years hopefully, just like the Oneplus 3.

PS: Open to offers for Oneplus 3.

Samsung A52s 5G, will get updates till android 14, as good as other "newer" phones that launched with android 12 out of the box. It is 27-28k these days without much offers on it. It is one of the last phones with 3.5mm jack & SD card slot (not dedicated though). With consolidation of networks & increased tariffs, I stopped using 2nd SIM long back & instead use SD card on my phone.

In general, camera isn't a strong suit for Moto, as in the software algo, which is good for Samsung. I personally will pick One UI over stock any day, but that can be reversed for you. Search how good the ROM support is for A52s.

Goes without saying but avoid A53. A73 would have been a great deal at 30k with updates till android 16, but alas it is at 43k. Lower competition from OP liekly resulted in higher prices of Samsung, doubt there will be another value flagship gem like S20FE 5G anytime soon.

Moto Edge 30 is a good choice but the 4000mAh battery is not that good in this price range. And like Omega mentioned, camera would be another thing which could be better(only speaking after seeing Youtube review). If you are fine with 60Hz refresh rate(to save battery) and compromise little bit on camera, this is really good phone.

I just now checked the weight of Samsung A52s, which is 189gm!!!!! Its heavy.

Geekyranjit mentioned that Reliance Digital has Moto phones now, if possible, go to a store and then check the camera performance and weight of the phones you shortlisted.

TBH, anything will be an upgrade over OP3s camera.

I was gonna suggest this but this is like 60k wtf asus
Can't blame Asus for doing that. I don't even want to wait till Asus eventually launches it here.

For now, I'm leaning towards G82 because of the 3.5 mm jack. Will demo it in a nearby Reliance Digital store.

Check Nothing phone ₹3k more than your budget though. Also buy a usb dac to connect wired headphones you'll get decent ones at ₹1.5-2.5k

If I have to get a USB-C DAC anyway, I'd get the Edge 30 (or bite the bullet for 6A ) and not have to worry about updates. Again, anything would be an upgrade over OP3 camera. I want to be dongle free, as much as possible.

Got the 8GB ram variant of G82 for ~16.6k after exchange with Oneplus 3.
Android 12 quick settings tile felt weird, so I got help from XDA to Bring back the Wi-Fi and Mobile data Quick Settings tiles
Plus, I disabled a bunch of Google and Facebook bloatware apps since those can't be uninstalled.

Stuff like those are the reasons I will think multiple times before picking a stock android phone for myself, just don't have time to put custom ROMs, configure Magisk & what not. But for the majority of users, stock will be nice compared to a bloated OS, which they will never clean up.

Anyways congrats.

I was in the same boat as you OP, been using OnePlus 5 for 5 years.
Today ordered Redmi K50i 8GB/256GB from Amazon for 17.5K INR with the exchange of OP5. It comes with great SOC, 3.5mm jack, Wifi 6, BT 5.3, 67W charger.
For the price, nothing beats its specs., could've got it for cheaper if i had SBI card.

I fuckin gave up on buying a mobile after seeing all the prices and stupid compromise even at the budget of 30K. Snapdragon 695/778 should be at 15-20K price range.
IMO there are only 2 phones worth buying without any compromise - Sony experia & Asus Zen series. Sony doesnt care about India and asus will release only their old stock after a year for crap price.

So yea, Buying @ 17.5K redmi fastest Mediatek SOC seem to be only better choice for me. YMMV.

Just clean the MIUI of bloat & you should be good. MIUI is good enough, will prefer it over oppo & vivo OS.
