Hello everyone, planning to buy new system, so I need your suggestions.

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.' Vague answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work.)
Ans: 1080p Gaming, Programing, video editing

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then please mention.
Ans: ~70k without Graphics card + 10-20K for graphics card

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Win 10

5. How much hard drive / solid-state drive space is needed?
Ans: Already have 500GB old HDD, going to use that for storage, Need SSD for OS

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention the screen size and resolution you prefer. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, then do mention the screen size and resolution of the monitor you have.
Ans: Yes need 24" 1080p Monitor.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy? i.e. which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: HDD, keyboard, Mouse

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Probably in next week

9. Have you ever built a desktop before? Or, will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: No, But I have basic idea about assembling (Don't know how to map cabinet port with motherboard slot)

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Mumbai, Both Locally and Online is fine for me

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: I went through multiple threads and come across with below config -
CPU - Intel 11400 (Is Intel stock cooler is enough to handle day to day tasks or need to buy separate one?)
Motherboard- Asus TUF B560 PLUS WIFI (Should I go to Asus TUF B560M instead? )
RAM - 8x2 Adata Spectrix D50 DDR4 RGB
Case - lian li lancool 215/ NZXT H510 ( I Really like NZXT H510 for its clean & minimal look but read on internet that it has bad airflow. Is it really that bad?)
PSU - Cooler master MWE V2 550W (Since it has DC-to-DC Technology)
SSD - WD SN550 500GB.
Monitor - Acer 23.8 IPS 165Hz
I will be buying Graphics card once prices are down or suggest graphics card as per budget right now.

What you think about this config?
Or should I go with Ryzen 3600 setup with cheap graphics card like 1030??
Please suggest one.

Thanks

Go with your decided Intel 11400 since its better than R5 3600.
NZXT 510 is good when ambient temp is low. If you are not having any plans to run PC in a AC room, then go with airflow case. Lian Li 215 is really good case.
Decide on PSU wattage based on your plans for what tier GPU are you planning to get. Corsair CX/CV series are decent choice.

dont go ryzen 5 3600,either take intel i5 11400/latest upcoming 5600g.look for a cabinet that is more functional than aesthetic if u can , there is a hyper x fury cl16 3200mhz 8gb ram which is non rgb u can maybe choose for cost cutting, motherboard is fine although toggle off the power limit in bios if its there, and buy an aftermarket cpu cooler if u can

The i5 11400 is a better CPU than R5 3600, noticeably better in gaming, bit better for productivity, but at unlocked power limits.

Cost of TUF B560/B560M? From charts, B560M DS3H seems like the cheapest sufficient mobo for i5 11400 at about 10k. At 15.5k, there's MSI Z490 A Pro, just needs a new BIOS update on it to run i5 11400.

Without power limits, i5 11400 consumes ~120W or so. You have to unlock it at BIOS.
A good cooler for it:
ARCTIC Freezer 34 Esports Duo - 4.4k - *www.amazon.in/dp/B0846LXCJ6/
Intel stock cooler will suffice at 65W, not at 120W.

I'll highly recommend Lian Li 215 as India is a hot country unless you run it inside a AC room always. Avoid NZXT IMO.

Corsair CV650 might be a good option. Depends on the GPU class. If you get 3060Ti or lower, should be good. For 3070 or better, IMO get Antec HCG Gold 750W for 7.6k or so.

So as I said I have 10-20k dedicated budget for graphics card, so probably I'll go with Gtx 1660 or Gtx 1050.
And I guess 550W PSU is enough for that GPU right?
I don't see Corsair CX in stock anywhere and cost is around 5k. Is Corsair CV better than Cooler master MWE V2?

About Motherboard & CPU I did enquiry at local shop, CPU + Motherboard cost is 33k.

@omega44-xt
Do you mean by default (Without unlocking power limits) Ryzen 3600 performs better than i5?
if that is the case should I go with Ryzen because I will be using all stock settings mostly.

Regarding the case what will be the approx temperature diff between Lian li and NZXT when PC is in idle state or in gaming?

For a 1660S, 550W is good enough. 1050Ti is not a 1080p gaming card for max visual settings, get it only if you have budget constraints. I have 1050Ti, it works well with CSGO, PES, Rocket League.

Unlocking power limit here is not equal to overclocking if that is your concern.

Do you plan to use PC in AC room? But for sure NZXT will be hot. You can check the case pics and guess that part yourself. And its a small case, so I am guessing the cable management will be slightly harder.

Ok, got it, what about performance without unlocking power??

And most of the time i will be using AC .
Can you suggest alternate to lian li 215 with good air flow under 7k?

quicky008

Technomancer
Deepcool mattrex 55 v3

Check this one out-should be a good alternative to lian li 215.Even though i personally would have preferred the latter as it has 2 200mm fans which should provide significantly greater airflow in the cabinet.

There's one thing that i dont understand,as far as the 11400 is concerned, will it have trouble operating at its highest possible all-core boost frequency unless the power limits are disabled in the motherboard?is it a defect of the cpu or the limitation of the motherboard itself? Is this issue present in the 10400 and other 10th gen cpus?

Getting one's hands on a 11400 might be a problem though,as they seem to be out of stock at all the big retailers.

In that case would the 10400 be suitable for the Op's needs?

I personally dislike tempered glass panels, but go with what you want
The metallicgear case comes with 2 RGB fans preinstalled.

I bought the above from amazon, its on paper a very good cabinet but the cabinet arrived to me in pieces, (the TG part)

550W should suffice actually for 1660S or even say RTX 3050/3050Ti in future (likely).

By default, i5 11400 will runs at 65W. I think at 65W, i5 will be inferior to R5 by a bit as R5 draws up to 80W on full load & doesn't stick to 65W TDP if its not overheating. Intel does weird stuff honestly. For gaming, i5 should be similar or better than R5 as it has a better single-thread performance & games would not fully load a CPU, so good clock speeds at 65W as well. The i5 can run at upto 4.2GHz on all 6 cores at 100% load, which consumes 120W, but games usually load the CPU ~50% (depends), so even within 65W power, it can hit high freq.

1625023053518.png

From stock i5 performance to NO power limit performance w/o XMP on AIO - basically 6th vs 10th (as stock cooler isn't good for 120W), you are gaining like 28% better performance.

1625022956820.png

This reinforces my point that i5 is better for gaming even at 65W.

Hey man really thanks for the detail explanation.
So i5 11400 seems better choice and comes with igpu, so i will stick to that only.
I got text from local shop saying i5 11400 is out of stock.

I will try to visit lamington road this or next weekend to check the prices and availability.

Hey guys,
Finally I'm able to grab i5 11400...
Here are final components that I have Baught
CPU i5 11400 + Asus TUF B560 plus WiFi - 34k
(TUF 560M was 3k Cheaper but sales person was insisting continuously to get 560 instead of 560M..saying dual fan graphics card won't work on Micro ATX due to pcie x8 support issue ..And VRMs of micro ATX motherboard is not so good. Is it really true??)

RAM - 8x2 Adata D50 DDR4 RGB - 8.3K
Case - NZXT H510 - 6.5k
PSU - CM MWE V2 550W - 3.3k
SSD - WD SN550 500GB - 5K
Monitor - Viewsonic XG2405 - 14.6k from flipkart

I haven't Baught GPU - asked about prices - MSI 1660 single fan ~ 32k ( should i get one?)

Assembled it myself..it went smooth.
Enabled xmp to run ram at 3200mhz.
So far system runs fast and smooth.

Is there anything to check system is performing as per components capability??

And one more thing I checked Intel i5 specs, the max refresh rate supported by inbuilt graphics is 60hz
But I'm able to set it 120hz from display properties...Is it good or should i keep it on 60hz??

And how do I check or change TDP settings?
I checked in BIOS/power management.. everything is set to auto

Attached some pictures of the whole system

Congratulations! You got decent deal on Processor + Mobo.
I think your next purchase should be a good pair of fans set to intake from the front panel and a CPU Cooler.

About the GPU, do not buy yet! The prices seems to be falling so better wait till the end of the year for good prices. If you need it urgently, then may be you can look for other cheaper alternatives like 1050Ti or 1050. Just to give you a perspective, 1660S costed 20-22K before the shortage the GPUs. Its better to stick with your iGPU for now.

That CPU + mobo deal is good. Not sure if VRM difference exists between ATX & mATX size, but mATX version has good VRMs & you aren't using an i9 that it will matter. But sometimes VRM differences exists. Never heard of other stuff. Considering 34k, its a great nonetheless, so don't worry.

Do register for extended warranty from Viewsonic, needs to be done within a month of purchase.

I think i5 supports 4K at 60Hz, so 1080p 120Hz is no issue. Games running at 120fps with iGPU is a different issue.

I think that TUF mobo doesn't enforce power limits if thermal headroom is present. Run Cinebench benchmark & check CPU package power using HWinfo or HWmonitor. If it's running above 65W consistently, then its good. Although stock cooler won't allow that i5 to run at 120W power draw as it can't cool it at that power. So likely it will throttle at max CPU load.

GPU prices are falling, so wait for price drop for a few months if you can. Crypto craze is dying down, so that will help with supplies. See what happens, no one predict what will happen though.

Thank you @TheSloth, @omega44-xt

I ran Cinebench benchmark, temperature hits almost 100 degree in no time.
Regarding CPU Power it is going around 139W :|.

As expected with stock cooler. The cheapest cooler I'll recommend easily is Arctic Freezer Duo for 4.5k:
ARCTIC Freezer 34 Esports Duo - Tower CPU Cooler with BioniX P-Series case Fan in Push-Pull, 120 mm PWM Fan, for Intel and AMD Socket -White : Amazon.in: Computers & Accessories (now OOS)

Noctua U12S is like 5.5k & NH D15 is like 7.5k.

For something really cheap:
I'm not 100% sure, but it should be able to handle 125W, but at 100% load temps might be 80-85C+ esp at summers, still much better than stock cooler.

Did you run this test with cabinet's side panel opened or closed?

Before buying CPU Cooler, check the motherboard for cpu cooler slots/holes and find if you will be able to install the cooler in push-pull config.
Also, buy PWM intake fans at front, should help little bit.
