Hello All,

I want your help. I am planning to build PC for gaming along with learning and developing graphics design / software.

I have shortlisted this PC: ASUS ROG Strix GL10DH-IN012T Gaming Desktop
Amazon.in: Buy ASUS ROG Strix GL10DH-IN012T Gaming Desktop (AMD 8-Core RYZEN 7-2700/8GB RAM/512GB PCIe SSD/Windows 10/6GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Graphics), Iron Gray Online at Low Prices in India | ASUS Reviews & Ratings

Is this a good gaming PC which can be used for graphics designing. Or are there better alternatives?
Please suggest good PC config in this budget.

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.' Vague answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work.)
Ans: Gaming PC. Playing latest games at Ultra settings (1080P) at smooth 60 fps. Recent and upcoming games should run smoothly (Mostly play FPS and third person adventure) - Assassin Creed Valhala, Metro Exodus, Cyberpunk 2077

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then please mention.
Ans: ~ ₹ 80,000

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 10

5. How much hard drive / solid-state drive space is needed?
Ans: Minimum 256 GB. Can go for higher but should not exceed overall budget by much.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention the screen size and resolution you prefer. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, then do mention the screen size and resolution of the monitor you have.
Ans: Not currently

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy? i.e. which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Brand new PC. no existing components

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: In next 2 weeks

9. Have you ever built a desktop before? Or, will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Will be done by assembler

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Delhi. Will probably go to Nehru Palace or Order online based via Amazon

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: I am also planning to use PC for learning and developing graphics. Will graphics designing require any additional hardware or do I need to upgrade to any specific GPU?/

Never buy pre-build PCs. They are overpriced.
Do you have a monitor? If yes, which one?
Also, don't waste GPU power on ultra settings.

The one Pre-build PC config I have given is just for reference. I probably will not buy that PC for sure. Just wanted to know which config will be better in similar pricing.
Regarding monitor, I will probably buy separately. The budget of ~ 80,000 is excluding monitor.
GPU capable of running games on ultra settings is more to do with future proofing for next 3-4 years.

Just go to Nehru Place, if you can, get quotes for a build like this:

CPU - AMD R5 3600 - 16.5k

Mobo - Asrock B450 Pro4 - 7.5k*

RAM - 2x8GB DDR4 3200MHz - 7k

GPU - Zotac RTX 2060 - 27k

SSD - Crucial MX500 500GB 2.5″ - 5.7k

HDD - WD/Seagate 1TB - 3k

PSU - Corsair TX650M - 8.3k

Cabinet - MSI MAG Forge 100M or something else - 4.7k

Monitor - None

Total - 79.7k

* ASUS TUF B450 for 8-8.5k is another good option, both need the latest BIOS to run 3rd gen Ryzen CPUs, but most seller have latest stock with BIOS pre-installed these days. Do enquire.

Those are prices already adjusted due to covid (mostly). So try to get it at those prices or lower. You can save some money by swapping PSU to Corsair CX550 (4.8k) & SSD to Kingston A400 240GB (under 3k), but get those if you can.

It should handle designing & stuff easily.

Thanks for detailed answer.
The PSU that you have suggested seems better.
On GPU front, any better alternative from AMD. I prefer AMD GPUs

For GPU, you may get 5600XT for the similar (or slightly higher) price..
NVIDIA 2060 seems to be better than 5600XT in most games and almost similar priced. Can you suggest any other GPU or the 2060 one seems to be good to go with?

2060 is indeed better, I suggest zotac nvidia cards for their extra 3 years warranty(register the product on zotac India site within 28 days of purchase) so total 2+3=5 years warranty.

OP was interested in AMD option and hence I suggested 5600XT. BTW I think its 2060 Super which is better than 5600XT and not 2060 (considering performance only and not price).

AMD GPUs are overpriced in India, only exception being sometimes you get RX580 for 12-13k.

For competing against RTX 2060, you need to find RX 5600XT, which starts at 30k whereas 2060 starts at 25k.

RTX 2060 Super is the next jump up, but costs 7k or so more than RTX 2060, usually 32k+, for 10% performance boost (check that benchmark pic). So stick with RTX 2060, great GPU.
