I am interested in field of Gadgets. I want to work like people in digit who writes features, buying guides, reviews various gadgets, apps, games etc. What are the skills required for this? What is the scope of earning by doing such a job or getting a job in this field in South Indian cities like Nagercoil & Thiruvananthapuram?
If I want to do it on my own (like blog or YouTube channel) & earn money what are the resources I need & from where can I get them?

To answer specifically about digit, the offices are in New Delhi (Noida) and Mumbai, so you would probably need to relocate there to work. Interned at the Noida office in 2016 and had a great experience. Digit staff and other 9 dot 9 media staff were very accommodating and helpful. My profile : Karan Raj Baruah - Digit Author

Well obviously first depends on the type of content you want to do. Either blog or YT. I'd say fix one and have Instagram etc for promotion. You would need a good creative mind along with good idea about technology to write reviews etc. For youtube, you could start with your phone and just some editing tools on your computer. These things take time so don't expect to go viral immediately and be prepared to work a lot of hours for your content.

If there is anything more to ask, would be happy to answer.

Mm. I basically like to review new gadgets/apps. For this, from where do I get the gadget. I mean for e.g. like do I have to buy every phone to review them?

I don't know much about this.

But from what I see is, the Indian YouTube space is very crowded now for general tech reviews and news. You've got companies like Digit, NDTV and then you have individual YouTubers like Technical Guruji. To work for the former, all you need to have is a flair for writing alongside with an interest in technology.

From a market point of view, what India lacks is desi alternatives to people like GamersNexus and HardwareUnboxed. I don't know whether India is now in a situation where Intel, AMD and nVidia freely distribute review samples like in the US or in Europe.

In the beginning yes(buy your own or source from some friend/relative) & if you get enough popularity then only companies will start sending you review units.
