One plus 7 vs Asus 6Z

Which is better?
I like the design of 6z .
My primary concern is about the long term reliability of that camera module motor.
Can we adjust it manually?

I cannot comment about the build quality but both phones have some weird bugs since they mix their in house software with the stock os. And most of the bugs will go unattended. 1 more thing, OP will forget about you after they launch a phone after 6 months.

most of them are releasing a lot of models so forget you even after a month. xiaomi is a prime example after samsung. even when no comparable model was launched after k20/pro, users complain about bugs & full screen advertisements but their threads are removed in MI official forum and nothing is done. i see it almost every 2-3 days.
in that case, OP is better as it forgets you after 6 months. :D

OP promises 2 years of update- OS and patches, sounds good right?. But here's the catch, giving you a current example. OP7 was getting regular updates, including patches and everything. Now that the 7t has released the patch updates will keep on delaying for the 7. Finally they will say that there's no eta as the phone is old. The specs of these two phones are not that different, 7 pro vs 7t pro. So, say they release a new feature for the t version they will not release for the non t version citing it is an old phone. It is all business I understand and other companies might be doing the same but @drkarth asked about OP and Asus so I mentioned these companies only. About the bugs- my friend is using 5t, regrets purchasing it everyday, Samsung Health does not work, if you consume your data for the day then a restart is needed to start data of the next day's cycle. There are tons of bugs like this mentioned by users in op forums. If you keep on sending pm's to moderators they will tell you to upload some file, which is like 1.5+gb and is encrypted, to the bug hunters page. My friend has done it multiple times along with other users but no result.

That is why custom ROMs are there for those who can't wait for official updates,I thought OP has good developer support.

Depends upon the developer, if they are into it ROM will get nightly updates or monthly updates at least.

Exactly. Since 2012, I have always used a custom rom on my phones from day one unless that phone doesn't have any. An exception would be Honor 10 for which the bootloader unlock procedure has been a PITA.
Custom rom's are not a normal user's cup of tea. Their dev's are good but they just don't care about the bugs anymore.
Funny because devs are working for free and good ones mention initial bugs (if any) straightforward after pushing the branch. They don't fill their roms with ads too.

that is same with almost every company i have checked. it is log file and other analysis data. my personal experience - i have sent it 3 times to xiaomi ( many other users have done the same). i had a talk with their support team for battery drain and few other issues for which thousands of users are crying. i had a talk with two of their service centers both of which checked and told me that it is software issue. after that i had a talk with multiple levels with a lot many people but till date no solution is given except some apologies and a request to wait for the next software update as developers are working real hard on it.

i have checked Asus groups on facebook and there also almost everyone is crying due to one bug or another. i have checked motorola and lenovo official forums and have seen moderators threatening users with ban & removing threads of complaints / saying it is ok, it will not be pursued any further.
i was told by lot many that OP is good in terms of software updates as they release just one or two models but it appears it is the same with them as well.
what should a customer do in this situation? which brand to buy? i have not checked Apple forums but their customers don't seem to complain a lot. may be i should rob a bank and get one. :D

I really don't know what to say.My 4 years old zenfone 2 laser running on bloated zenUI based on android M still works fine for most times. All banking apps work & everything basic works though slowly(~500-600mb avg free ram out of 2gb which goes down to 200-300mb once paytm app opened). I think most users complaints are because of their expectations mismatch like call quality not always crystal clear, battery lasting a few hours less than expected(turned out my phone eats much more battery when using wifi or location mode set to high accuracy mode forced by some banking & food apps),2-3 times a day some touch gesture didn't work as expected etc.(btw all this happen with my mobile too but to me they are just exceptions supposed to happen).

No sir their bug hunters are well paid and they work from China. I didn't get your line that I have highlighted in italics.

P.S. There are some devs at xda who would unlock the bootloader for $$.

My S3 and S7 work just fine too, though not using S3 for calls as it is a 3g phone.

Brother bugs are in every phone be it Samsung, SHITpple, Huawei or any other. But trust me OP has some weird bugs, do you need to restart your phone if you want to use next day's data considering you have exhausted the limit of the previous day? There are ton's like this and trust me no solution. Now out of all Android phones Samsung, Motorola, Asus, Huawei have none of these weird bugs, ofcourse main bugs like battery drain etc are there and I guess we will have to live with that. From customer centricity point of view it is either Samsung or Huawei vs all other Android phone manufactures. CRapple guys do complain but they have become such a sheep that they will believe that its a feature if the company tells them so
See they are spending 1lac+ on a phone which has around 4 gigs of ram and that notch. I guess the wireless charger and fast charger cost extra.
Buy a Pixel if you have that sort of money. Their bugs are addressed soon and they have a regular update cycle. No idea about the customer support though.

after going through all this I feel like buying a 6GB variant of Nokia 6.1 Plus for 9999 or Realme U1 with a 5% instant bank discount and another 5% cashback. when it starts getting slow as per my expectations or i get bored (in a year or more), then i will get another in the same price segment. why waste money first and then waste some more on Aspirin. :D

Custom rom developers are working for free on their own time. They don't unlock anything and as for the paid services, I don't trust them enough. Official service center can do that here for free.

Just buy redmi note 7s,there are some good debloat MiUI guides on xda forum which don't require root or even unlocked bootloader. In worst case scenario you always have the option of custom rom.
