Hello! I am looking a very basic, cheap yet reliable laptop for my office staff to make data and records.
The usage is simple, please suggest me the best I can buy in my budget 20-25k or even less. I found out in my budget Intel Pentium Silver N5000 processor is amazing.

1) What is your budget? 20-25k INR

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?
  • 14-15 inch
3) What are the primary tasks you will be performing with this notebook?

Office work only

5) Any typical configuration in your mind you're eying for ?
Just can do office work.

4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
a. Like: hp, asus
b. Dislike: cheap Chinese brands

6) Anything else you would like to say?
There is no issue of OS and as I can install by my own.

Well your usage case scenario is "not interesting enough" so didn't attract much attention. Anyway if this model is what you are talking about:
Then I strongly suggest to get Kingston A400 120gb ssd(for ~1700) to replace hdd as win 10 will crawl on even much higher end systems with a mere hdd.Only thing to note is that Acer is pretty rigid about any "user upgrades" so even a simple thing as ram/hdd upgrade needs to be done at their authorized service centre only else warranty will be void.

+1 to this

That Pentium seems good enough. equivalent to i3 7100U or a bit better in some benchmarks.

I bought hp 15q Pentium Sliver N5000 quad core laptop with 4GB RAM and 1TB HDD. It costed me 21,990 INR and works so smoothly in windows 10 pro. Display is nice and crisp, I like glossy displays over dull matte finish of cheap laptops. Blacks and contrast level is amazing for the price I paid. Touchpad works so smooth. Battery life is around 5 hours in wifi. Overall the laptop is worth every penny.

I am also planning to purchase laptop with Pentium silver N5000 chip. There are options from asus, lenovo, acer and hp. But i want to know if hp laptop supports m.2 ssd. Does it have extra slot for it? Acer laptop has one.

I am not sure you can ask hp customer care. By my experience acer is not reliable as hp. So I prefer hp for basic work even with 5400rpm 1 TB HDD.

Even if acer laptop has one,you will still need to get ssd installed at their authorized service centre else warranty will be void.Acer has the most strict policy regarding self upgrades.
