I am planning to buy a laptop soon as my old Acer emachine d725 has become very slow.

This is not a very urgent purchase I can wait for better deals.

Questionnaire for laptop/notebook purchase:

1) What is your budget?

35000 - 42000
I will pay for best value for money in this price bracket.

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer ?

- Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen.
I don't commute with my laptop so weight and size is not a problem.

3) What are the primary tasks you will be performing with this notebook?

* Word processing
* OCR software to convert PDF to word like Abbyy finereader.
* Convert mobile family home videos for better compression and low size.
* Multimedia. I would like to connect my Denon AVR to laptop.

5) Any typical configuration in your mind you're eying for ?
Minimum preference
- i3 / i5 8th gen cpu
- 8GB RAM
- 15 inch screen 1080p
- I need at least a M2 slot for future upgradability to SSD which I will buy after 5, 6 months.
- inbuilt SSD ( if available)

4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?

a. Like: HP ( but currently all HP sub 40000 models have poor build quality) Acer, Asus,

b. Dislike: Dell ( Because of cost)

6) Anything else you would like to say?

- Screen resolution -- 1080p (Full HD) )

- Battery back up - normal (3-4hrs)
Will use as desktop. So battery life doesn't matter. Anyway all laptop battery die after 1 year.

- Purchase place ( Online (eg - flipkart, infibeam) / Local / Abroad )
I would prefer local shops in Kolkata Chandni market or Ganesh Chandra Avenue.
I avoid Snapdeal. But do let me know about online models. Sometimes they are available in offline shops also.

Thanks a lot in advance guys for your valuable opinions

Has m2 slot & 1080p screen but at the cost of build quality & poor viewing angles(checkout the 1st review,it is quite detailed).

The Asus one is more practical. The i5 is definitely more powerful but i3 8th gen is sufficient for day to day tasks.

I don't expect it to go under 50k. But it has earlier been sold at 50k, that's the lowest, but usually its 52k.

It is a good choice. That AMD CPU is equivalent to i5 8250U & the GPU will run all the games for next few years, in case you try that. Overall a good choice at 50-52k.
