Boots on and off, gpu fans spin on and off

My system was running fine till yesterday. Today, when I started, there was no display but computer is running. Checked hdmi cable. Opened cabinet, saw gpu fan spinning on and off.
Vga through mobo was displaying.
Tried reseating gpu, ram, checking pci cables. Didn't worked.
Still, gpu spins on and off. Now, computer is in a 'booting up and shutting down' loop.
Kindly give suggestions. Thanks.
I5 4440, GIGABYTE b85m-d3v-a, gtx 970, corsair vs550.

Start running the system with minimal components, then add others one by one to pinpoint the issue.

if the computer boots up without gpu then its quite possible that your gpu is acting up-if you have any spare gpu lying around then you may use that and check if the problem persists.

Well, I think it's gpu problem. My gtx has gone kaput 2 times already. Did RMA. The present one got replaced in June. Previous 2 showed distorted display before dying. Now, no display and on & off spinning fans! Weird.

Corsair VS series and GTX 970 is not a good combination
Invest in the PSU more. At the very least get a TXM model. RMx would be ideal.

I'd put my money on a kaput PSU. I had faced such an issue twice and the PSU was the culprit both times.

Oh. Thanks for the inputs. So there's still a chance gpu is intact. Will get rmx. Will update after psu.

My current PSU is a Seasonic SS650-KM I bought for around 7k in 2015. Have had no problems with it so far.

From where are you getting the seasonic psu for 7k?

I have the aforesaid seasonic psu, but as of now its out of stock almost everywhere, probably because its an older model.

A better alternative would be corsair txm 550/650 which can be had for around 6k

Oh, I actually purchased it in early 2015, I forgot the date. Fixed.

What I mean is that Seasonic has really good quality capacitors and they do last pretty long.

Corsair rmx 750w for 12000+ ₹ amazon
Rmx 850w for 11800+ ₹ itdepot
Cx 550w 6600₹
Cx 750 12000₹
Looking at this, is rmx 850w best option?

Looks like all the Corsair models are out of stock.

Get this one:
Buy Online | ANTEC EA550G PRO 550W 80 PLUS GOLD CERTIFICATION SEMI MODULAR PSU | Price in India
But before you purchase it contact prime to check whether it's the new model with 7 year warranty. There exists an inferior old model with the same name with 3 yrs warranty that are still in stock in some shops. If the 550W model is the old one then ask whether the 650W model has 7 yrs warranty or not.
