Huawei may be bricking modded devices in an attempt to kill community development

I would like to get a statement at least from Huawei on why they are doing it? Security is one thing but still, the users who root their phones are responsible for the consequences.

I never dissed Huawei in the past, I thought they were a respectable brand with enough RND to make their own processors but this is unforgivable lol.

XDA has extremely strict newbie user policy. Its impossible for them to pull off something like this in XDA

Honor is a sponsor for XDA IIRC. That's one of the reasons XDA is posting Huawei/Honor articles.

It’s no secret that Honor, a sub-brand of Huawei, sponsors XDA for certain content. Anytime that happens, the content is submitted under the “A Word From Our Sponsors” which are handled entirely by the XDA Administrative staff – not the XDA Portal team. The XDA Portal team does not deal with sponsored content in any way. Every time the Portal covered news related to Huawei or Honor, it has always been because we chose to do so and not because Huawei or Honor asked us to do so.

They used to support custom ROM development & had an Open Kirin project. Something changed in the management a few months ago apparently due to which they are taking a U-turn.

I used to think Honor phones can be a good option because of treble support but then whole bootloader unlocking fiasco happened.
