20k Build Help

Hello ,

I am planning to deploy a new rig by this week, I want a rig which last for 3-4 years, my friend is going to use it as casual home (light gaming) build.

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Simple Everyday Use, light gaming, and vr fun (in future)

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 20k is what I have planned for, max 25k

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: only if possible in budget

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 10 PRO, already purchased

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: Already have ssd and hdd

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Already have 1080p 21 inch monitor

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: GPU GTX 1030, 128 GB Samsung SSD, 1 TB HDD, 21inch Monitor

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Mid Feb

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: I will be assembling it

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: I live in Mumbai, I will buy locally but buying online isn't a issue either... which ever is cheaper

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:Since my friend wants it for home use.. and she will be doing some light MMORPG gaming on it, I have short listed following parts so need help with choosing better Processor and Motherboard
since friend doesn't want to wait for (i3 8100) Intel 300 series lower end motherboards to arrive or for AMD Ryzen 2 processors to arrive.. this build need to be finished on currently available PC components only
So my main question is since ryzen will be supporting am4 platform till end of 2019 that is till ryzen gen 3 processor and motherboards hit market.. so I am planning swap for better processor or motherboard that time from current build. also please suggest PSU that will supoort 1060 6gb or equivalent Graphics card (Future buy) in your mind.

Ryzen 1400
AMD 320 motherboard (change motherboard later in 2019)
8 GB DDR4 Ram
550 watt PSU
Cooler master masterbox lite or better airflow Case

or

Ryzen 1200 (Change Processor Later in 2019)
AMD B350 Motherboard
8 GB DDR4 RAM
550 Watt PSU
Cooler Master masterbox lite or better airflow Case

Don't get 1200 ,1400 now

hold on till 15-20 feb and get Ryzen G processors .. ( official launch is on 12th feb in USA )

Ryzen 3 2200G - Equivalent to Ryzen 1300x - Rs 8,000 approx expected
Ryzen 5 2400G - Equivalent to Ryzen 1500X - Rs 13,000 approx expected

Go with Gigabyte A320m hd2 ( it has usb 3.1 gen 2 port compared to Asus A320M-k )

But this will require BIOS update before you can use these CPUs .. so get it offline from a BIG seller who will update BIOS for you with old Ryzen 1xxx processors ... otherwise it will not work

and PSU - Go for Corsair Tx 550M - Rs 5700 ( try not to go below this if you plan on using like gtx 1060/Rx 580 and above class cards in future , this is a long term investment with long term warranty )

If you plan on swapping CPU later , then 2200G makes more sense because of price

@OP
For 1060, you will a need good reliable PSU. And your budget is not good enough.

@gta5 I keep my fingers crossed. It's likely that 2200G will cost more or as much as i3 8100 in India when it hits the market. You know AMD pricing right? Even after price cut, still Ryzen processors are being quoted @ old price.

nobody can say for sure , AMD CPU pricing till now hasn't been bad , their GPUs though is another story , but still there are very good chances :) .. unless demand is way too high and shoots the prices like it did with g4560

as R3 1200 launched for Rs 8900 in india and this was 110$ MSRP in USA , 2200G is 99$ MSRP so Rs 8100 or so is quite possible.. dollar rate is also same around 64 rs

and 2400G is same MSRP as Ryzen 1400 was 169 $ which was around Rs 12,900-13,000 after GST increased price a bit

btw did you check price of R3 1200 ? it is down to Rs 6800 on mdcomputers

Buy AMD QUAD CORE Best Price in India mdcomputers.in

check cost to cost price list also , Ryzen 1600 is down to Rs 15,400, Ryzen 1400 is down to Rs 11,700

feeling very sad to see so much price hike in India vs USA launch prices >.<

Both were reasonably priced but 18% GST f*cked everything.

No,the base price itself is hiked. It is launched at $99 on amazon.com which is approx Rs.6370.Even with GST a similar price should have been ~7k but my guess is AMD is expecting more demand in US market so Indian market doesn't have as much supply of stock thus increasing prices.

I called Prime and informed them MD computers selling R3 2200G for 8838 so now they updated rates to 9000
its not GST effect its profit margin after adding GST... which sucks

As per NDTV article
Ryzen 3 1200 CPU with the new Ryzen 3 2200G, which is officially priced at Rs. 7,290 (plus 18 percent GST) in India. - 8602
The Ryzen 5 2400G replaces the Ryzen 5 1400 in AMD's product stack, and is priced at Rs. 10,990 (plus 18 percent GST). - 12808

for USA pricing
on Amazon.com price of 2200G is 6359 INR
and price of 2400G is 10855 INR

so clearly over priced but since no other options will be going for R3 2200G build here

@SaiyanGoku You are right, edited my post.I somehow mistook 6 for 5 in google convertor result.Still it is overpriced by primeabgb as Ryzen 3 1200 is selling in nehru place at same price in USD as on amazon global site.

price dropped from Primeabgb ryzen 2200G is now 8838 and and ryzen 2400G is now 12968

Mdcomputers is selling for Rs 8838 from start itself with "free shipping" .. from vendors like cost to cost it likely will be available for Rs 8500 to buy , *IF* demand doesn't shoot prices up..

also don't forget about BIOS update , otherwise CPU will not work .. so mail mdcomputers or prime or vedant if they are willing to update the BIOS on mobo along with CPU .. else buy Mobo offline from Big seller that can update the BIOS for you if you don't have access to Ryzen 1xxx processors

Finally finished assembling computer last week

here is what I bought

Cabinet - Cooler Master Q300L = 3,100 rs.
Processor - AMD Ryzen 3 2200G = 7,460 rs.
Motherboard - Asus Prime B350m-k = 4,915 rs.
Ram - ADATA XPG 8 GB 3000mhz = 6,101 rs.
PSU - Corsair VS550 PSU = 2,542 rs
Total = 23,643 rs
SGST = 2,128 rs
CGST = 2,128 rs
Final Total = 27899 (GST )

Parts I already had

SSD - Samsung 750 EVO 128 GB
HDD - Seagate 7200 1 TB
Fans - Corsair , Cooler master fans

Dealer helped me flash NEW AMD bios while purchasing to support new AMD APUs

I loved small cabinet Q300L .. best for Micro ATX or ITX builds plus It has Plexi glass full side panel and 3 sided Dust filters (magnetic).

Ryzen 2200G touched 3.8 GHz. I did mild oc on it without having any issues even ram touched 3200.

Over All very happy with entry level graphics and strong performance of system :clap2:

I will try to add few Photos here

a PSU is the heart of any computer system. unless you are on a really low budget, get a good PSU . In this case op has spent over 3k on a cabinet and bought just an entry level PSU. Corsair CX450(new white label one) would have been a lot better. there are new cooler master models as well like mwe 450,mw lite 500 etc, however not sure of their quality. If cooler master is confident enough to provide 5 years of warranty on them, then I hope there could be something definitely worth on it. corsair cx series also come with 5 years of warranty now .
Anyway you have bought it now, so congrats and enjoy the build. Next time you change your psu, make sure you pick the right one.

BTW pics look nice.
