Converting RAW External HDD to Windows desirable format without data loss

windchimes

Can you hear it..??
Hi guys,

  • Messed up with my 1TB Seagate external HDD which is almost full with data.
  • I'm using Windows 7 and I can't access the hdd since it is asking to format.
  • Using testdisk and I can see all files listed, but I have no way to recover 1TB, as I dont have that much backup space available, (even if I think of spending hell lot of time to recover the whole)

Would like to know is there any way I can get it back asuccessfuly - as a compatible for Windows HDD, with file listing and all partition table in tact, without data loss directly using testdisk ( if not ,any other free tool available)

Waiting for inputs to proceed here.

First rule of data recovery is:There must be a separate hdd to recover data to.If you currently don't have a spare 1TB hdd then borrow it from some friend/relative temporarily or if you can afford it,just buy one for ~3k.

You can also try EaseUS Partition Recovery software on Windows and try to recover if it can recognize the HDD, in case you somehow messed up with partition table leaving data intact but no longer accessible because partition is lost.

I had used it once successfully when I messed up with MBR of my secondary storage drive on XP.
I am however not sure if the software is compatible with UEFI/GPT Partition scheme. In case your HDD was using GPT partitions.
