1) What is your budget? $2400 including shipping and customs from US

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?
Anything from 15-17, though 120hz G-sync really caught my eye

3) What are the primary tasks you will be performing with this notebook?
Games and development

5) Any typical configuration in your mind you're eying for ?
GTX 1070, an i7 7th gen, HDD should be 7200rpm, SSD should be NVMe (optional)

4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
a. Like: MSI, ASUS
b. Dislike:

6) Anything else you would like to say?
I would most probably be importing it coz Indian pricing sucks. I am confused between Amazon shipping ($300-$400) extra or ask someone to carry from there (I lose unboxing and uncertainty about customs)

I am looking to buy a laptop, unfortunately I can't build a PC as I need mobility. So I have narrowed it down to
MSI GT72VR 7RE Dominator Pro or MSI GT73VR 7RE Titan

I would be importing either of them from US to India so here are my questions regarding it.

  • I can order it from Amazon and the will charge somewhere around $300-$400 to deliver which includes the cost of shipping and import duties as well. If anything goes wrong it is their responsibility as well the return cost for 30 days. Other option is to get from someone who is coming from US the downside here is I have to wait for them to come, I won't be sure if I pay anything extra as custom duties if anything goes wrong within 30 days I am left with RMA also I will have to leave the box to take extra precaution I am not charged extra customs.
  • Which one should I go for, GT72VR or GT73VR, only difference is thunderbolt 3 port, better CPU, 4 RAM slot and 1 extra M.2 slot in the latter, other than that GPU and screen are same in both.
  • I checked excaliberpc.com they are offering a upgrade from 16GB(2x8 2400MHz) to 32GB(4x8 2133MHz) is it worth the upgrade, I feel more RAM is better than the speed atleast with 2400vs2133

So what do you guys suggest?

Fill the questionnaire

Also, Gigabyte and asus provide international warranty IIRC
I'd still be recommending you to get a laptop from USA because we pay 50% more as a "premium".

I am definitely getting from US just how is not decided. I was checking Asus by did not like the looks of gl502 and gl752 was too costly.
Not sure about gigabyte like their service and stuff. MSI seems reliable.

Right off the assembly line

It's better you order directly from amazon.com. You can save a good amount of money and invest on M.2SSD's. But the people in custom will open the box to check. As i had once ordered a drone with sealed open by custom.

For major expensive i prefer to order form AmaonUSA or bestbuy.com.....

I get a lot of queries like this. I would suggest one of the best laptops that you can get is the ROG GL753VE. It comes with 16 GB RAM DDR4 which can be upgraded to 32GB. Along with that you will also get SATA 1TB HDD & has a GTX1050TI (which is anytime better than the 1070).

Ultra facepalm.

Are you drunk? What are you smoking?

You need a high-five on the face with a bat wrapped with barbed wire.
