So my Dell Studio 1558 laptop recently went kaput. So I am looking to buy a new gaming laptop.

Is lenovo y510p still worth buy? I can't find i listed at any reliable websites for sale. Moreover it is out of stock on most of them. Do you think I should buy it from the below link o should I wait to get a better laptop. Are there any new releases for laptops pending?

Would it still be supported by lenovo if I buy from snapdeal

I just confirmed it won't be supported by Lenovo. What do you guys think about HP p077tx. Worth buying this laptop?

Could you please provide me a link for it? Don't you think Full HD would be a problem as I would have to tone down the resolution while playing games as 840m is not suitable for Full HD gaming?

Also, why are you recommending Lenovo over HP. Anything I need to know about HP?

I can find it online only. Can't find it at the shops. :( They say it is being discontinued. Any idea if a newer series will be launched by Lenovo in the near future?

Should I wait for some other laptop that is going to be launched soon?

I can extend my budget as I am self-sufficient.

New series is out and it is y50 series. I may suggest if you want a better output from your budget in terms of gaming better get a desktop. Y510p will go old soon if you don't have a SLI card which is getting ever harder to find.

Yes. But Y50 series has a horrible display (so I have heard). Also I am planning to use this laptop for 4-5 years because I don't change my laptops frequently.

Can someone please tell me if it is okay if I go ahead with HP P077tx or HP P073tx?

Which one is better overall and please specify the reason. I am okay with an HD screen instead of the Full HD

^ trust me you shouldn't get a HD display when you can get FHD for 5k more (Z50, i7, 4GB 840m) or even 5k less (Z50, i5, 2GB 840m) compared to HP P077tx

I understand however there are 2 reasons for preferring the 720p display:

a) I have a huge collection of 720p movies which would look better on the HP laptop.
b) 840m is not powerful enough to run the games at 1080p resolution. If I run those games at a lower resolution it would cause blurry experience in-game.

Now which one would you recommend:

HP077tx (i5) vs HP073tx (i7) vs Z50

This also looks promising:

How would running games @720p on a 1080p display produce a blurry effect ??
