Suggestions needed - Tablet 50k ( iPad Air? )

A. Yes, must.

3. Voice calling on cellular network?
A. Not required

4. Preferred choice of brand?
A. Apple

5. What camera option you want (flash, front facing camera)?
A. Camera will rarely be used.

6. Preferred operating system? (Android, iOS, Windows Phone, etc).
A. iOS > Android

7. Primary use of handset (multimedia, camera, internet, gaming etc)?
A. Mostly professional works. This will act as a laptop replacement. Sending e-mails, reading lots of PDFs, online journals, etc.

8. Any specific tablets in consideration?
A. iPad Air 16GB WiFi + Cellular

9. Any other info that you want to share.
A. This is also for my mom. :lol: And 16GB should be enough for her.

What are my other options?

Nothing better than ipad air or if u can wait , ipad air 2 :D . Especially the part about pdf rendering, m-jeri on TE forums had compared the smoothness of pdf rendering on ios vs android and found ios to handle it better. Also, it goes without saying that ios app store will have a more comprehensive list of online journals as compared to android.

Can't wait even a week. :/ I already read that thread by aka911 on TE. :-D

I had used iPad Air 64GB cellular for a few months earlier and from my past experiences I can say that it's among the best tech devices available right now.
I used to be a hardcore anti-apple earlier but after using it for some time my perception about it changed forever. I released that as we grow up, those nitty-bitty matter much less to us. For most of the guys the primary requirement is to get the job done with simplicity. And Apple wins in that department. It has a few drawbacks (like USSD code not supported) but they are minor ones.

I never used an android tablet so can't comment on that but I can say that PDF rendering on iPad is smooth as fu##.

Placed an order for iPad Air 16GB Cellular for 36k.
Rest 14k is my commission for buying my mom an iPad :-D
