Look at mac book air or Lenovo Yoga.

Already considering macbook air, though will have to stretch budget for it. Would prefer Windows over OSX.

Not sure about Lenovo Yoga though, is it available in i5 or above? The model I checked comes with 128GB SSD.

Also, perhaps a noob query, but still need clarity on this - better processor vs SSD - how will each affect performance?

Thanks for response!

Depends entirely on your usage but looking at your usage, I would say that even a core i3 would suffice. SSDs are really helpful when multi-tasking. Your laptop will NEVER hang, literally.
A core i5 is good for gaming etc.

+1 for Macbook Air, although be aware that base model MBA comes with 128GB SSD only. So you will have to carry an external HDD, your usage is minimal and extended battery life of MBA will be a boon for you. Specially if you like to surf on the go. On that being said, if you don't like the idea of OSX you can try the Lenovo Flex.

And what about Hybrid drives? HDD + SSD.

Flex is one of the models I am considering. Fits the bill. Thanks!

I would go for yoga. It is beauty with style.

Which particular version of yoga? Is any available with ~13-14 inch screen size?
