battery not working

my lappi battery is completely dead..it says consider replacing ur battery :-D no back up...cn i use lappi as pc means always connected to power supply or is it necessary to buy a battery?? does it alter the performance of lappi by alwayz connecting in AC mains....

Yeah you can use it without a battery and only on the mains but keep in mind that if power failures are common in ur area it can damage ur lappie especially movable parts such as hdd
No loss in performance etc whatsoever but I would recommend getting a battery just in case (original only) and if u have the budget
It's safe to use it on mains 24/7 I do it all the time while gaming or torrenting at night
On the other hand the laptop temperatures can reduce upto 10c (in my case it does)

make model age configuration of your laptop?

you can simply disconnect the Battery and use it on mains. I'm using 5 such Laptops.

I have a similar problem where my battery is not charging. I first noticed it one month ago. After removing the battery and reconnecting it started working and gave me more than one hour backup. Yesterday the problem started again. The battery level shows 92% available and as charging, but it is the same value since hours. I removed and reconnected the battery but no result. Any suggestions. The laptop is 2.5 year old Toshiba L650.


Edit - Problem solved - Shutdown the laptop completely, removed the battery for a few minutes and restarted. The battery is now charging properly.

COMPAQ CQ41...original battery cost 3900/-:lol: ..i dont want to spent so much on battery whn my lappi is so outdated....no power surges in my area..thnx all for your advices :) :)
