Buying new graphics card

Hey guys
I m planning on buying a new graphics card
My system configuration is:-
core2duo E4500 @ 2.20GHz processor
ASUS P5GC-MX motherboard
1GB Kingston RAM
160 GB Seagate HDD
19" Viewsonic monitor

I have shortlisted Zotac GeForce 9400GT card.
I would mostly be using it for playing racing games mostly NFS series as I m a big fan. I m also going to upgrade to windows 7 when they will be released.
What u guys think?
Does installing graphics card improve the performance of my CPU?
Also I want to upgrade to 2GB RAM?
Is it a good decision?
My budget is Rs 5000.

Get the Palit 9600GT GDDR3 512MB @ 4.5k and get 1GB DDR2 800MHz for 0.8k. It should suit ur needs. 9600GT is a much better buy and will last you longer, but u will need an extra 6-pin power connector for this, make sure ur SMPS has this. Else, the 9400GT/9500GT should be good enough.

If you want ATI, then you may go for the 4670 1GB for 4.3k and get 1/2GB DDR2 800MHz for 800/1200

I have finalised on zotac geforce 9400gt as my SMPS doesn't have another connector & I have not been able to find a palit gfx in my locality.
Now can u tell me how to install this graphics card on my pc?
Please give me step by step procedure.

I think XFX 9600GT comes with connector. SO u dont need to worry oabout connector. If ur SMPS supports the wattage go for it.

I can't spare not even a penny above that.
So I can't buy that card.

I have already bought the zotac card & now I m going to get that 2GBs of RAM for my pc.
got the card for Rs. 3100.
