it does not depend much on the motherboard.
there are not any requirements that u should have LCD monitor, but the graphics experience you will not enjoy on CRT.

Win7 includes more aero features than Vista, so GFX card is must. So you should also go for a GFX card for using Windows 7

Most cabinets support both ATX and uATX.

At 12-15k, you can get a very good AMD config too.

AMD Athlon II X2 240 @ 3.4k OR Intel Dual Core E5200 @ 3.2k
Gigabyte MA-78GM-US2H @ 4.7k OR Gigabyte G31-ES2L @ 2.5k
2x2GB DDRII RAM Corsair @ 3-3.5k (Comes with RAM Heatsink and is very good quality!)
OR 2x2GB Kingston DDRII @ 2.6k
9600GT 512MB Palit @ 5k OR ATI HD 4670 1GB @ 4.7k

I suggest you get the AMD config! The motherboard comes with HD3200 onboard graphics which is very decent. njoy! :)

if gfx card is needed 4 win 7,then what are mobo's available without integrated solutions......n' for gfx card some costlier(which not comes with cabinet) psu is required?

G31 has 8mb onboard graphics AFAIK. P45 is the newer and way better chipset from intel although the graphics solution remains inadequate for any purpose except running the system or playing age-old games like road rash!

The mobo's with integrated solutions won't allow you to enjoy aero glass effects as you should. If budget is a serious concern for you, then get the gigabyte (amd) board i suggested. It won't need too much power and you can spend the money you saved on the GFX on the PSU. Minimum get the Corsair VX450W @ 4k + CM Elite 334 Cabby @ 2k.

I suggest u spend well on the PSU as it ensures safety of all the other hardware in ur cabby.

okay....suggest some boards which don't have onboard graphics(bcoz wasted if gfx card is to be used) so that a good gfx card must b considered...i tried intel's site but found all chipsets....!!

Onboard graphics is necessary bcoz if your GFX card goes kaput, then how will you use your comp?

First tell me which one you want to buy? Intel or AMD. Both are good in their own way so please don't go by the stereotype that AMD is bad and Intel is excellent. Both are equally good. At your budget, in fact, AMD is the better one. If you still want to buy Intel, then say so, I'll give you a good config for it too.

For now,

AMD Athlon II X2 240 @ 3.4k
Gigabyte MA-78GM-US2H @ 4.5k
2x2GB Kingston DDRII @ 2.4k
Corsair VX450W @ 4k
CM Elite 334 Cabby @ 2k

TOTAL - 15.8k

For Intel we will have to make certain adjustments and either way, u can enjoy windows 7! :D

thanks buddy..

^As you wish. Yes you can use your old cabby, no real need to spend another 2k on a case. Just remember to keep open the cabby once a month and clean the dust and u'll be at peace. :)

Intel E5200 @ 3.2k
Gigabyte G31-ES2L @ 2.4k
Corsair VX450W @ 4k
2x2GB DDR2 Kingston @ 2.4k
Palit 9600GT 512MB GDDR3 @ 4.7k OR Palit HD4670 1GB @ 4.5k [Get the 9600GT as its much better] or Zotac 9500GT 512MB GDDR3 ZONE @ 3.6k

Total = 15.6k - 16.7k

Do not compromise on the PSU as a bad PSU will damage your system over a period of time.

FINAL TOTAL : Intel : 15.6k OR AMD : 13.8k (onboard graphics).

Hope this helps you.
