I recently wrote a post on my tech blog on this phenomenon of how mobiles now come equipped with computer-like configurations. If anybody's interested, pls PM me and I will send the link to the article. (I am not sure whether I can provide the direct link since its my blog and could be considered as advertising)

Well there is a special thread in Chit Chat specially dedicated for posting your tech related blog posts. You can post the link to your blog post in that thread along with a short intro to it. :)

expansys.com : 1,063.79 USD 49,249.72 INR
play.com: 1,081.64 USD 50,076.02 INR

play.com has it listed for 500 pounds, I am pretty sure it does not include VAT (Its not needed in some places in UK if I am not wrong, but you need to pay it everywhere else)

So what do you guys have to say now ?

WTF!!!

Wait..lemme check..i am positive i saw it for 850+ shipping.

From gsmarena:-

As it seems a good pile of cash, or exactly 619 euro (890 US dollars), can make you one of the first owners of the high-resolution, high-spec'd, high-everything HTC Touch HD. Interestingly enough, that price tag goes good 20 euro below the pre-order price of Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1.

The play.com price is including vat too.

VAT in india is much less than that in the uk and sweden, so we will get it at a revised rate of 450 euroes.

bear in mind that this is the preorder price, so it will jump down dramatically after release.

Always, unlocked phones in USA and europe cost a bomb. I would rather wait for the phone to come out in India.

eg: Sony Ericsson W760i internation version is sold for 400USD. Which comes to around 19k and normal version is sold for 340USD.

N81 8Gb costs 450USD. that is around 21.5k.

I just saw the webcast and I must say its a big let down. It faces the same problem that practically all smartphones with windows-mobile face: Slow (even though it sports an awesome proccy), pressure-sensitive touch screen, scrolling/closing apps/navigating is a PITA without stylus. Honestly though, I was not expecting any miracles (its windows-mobile afterall ;) )

This guy has been using this phone for 7 months and it is not the latest build as he has already said.

Check this review:- Its almost the final version-

A little performance improvement for sure. Still not as smooth as on iPhone.

Boot time is not the greatest. (Not that it matters a lot)

Scrolling is going to suck big time (look how he applies pressure with the top of fingers/nails to register a touch on the screen). Similar problems while closing apps.

One thing I noticed is that after the guy inserted the headset for FM, it started playing through loud-speaker ? How did that happen ?
