Problem: I had previously installed WinXP on NTFS and had set MY DOCUMENT as private. OS crashed, won't boot, so i reinstalled WinXP and now i'm unable to acces the folders on MY DOCUMENT (of my previous WINXP). I get a 'Access denied' error.
Is there any way to retrieve my files?

Try NTFS Reader

Hi,

You may try NTFS Reader from Sys Internals which boots from a floppy (so bypassing any restrictions) and can read NTFS Partitions.

Like GameAddict said, Google for it. In any case, here it is:

Download the Boot Image creator tool, run it to create a bootable disc and and then start the computer using it.

thank you both. I really appreciate your support. I had found my own difficult way around though. In case you wanna know here's what i did: I installed win server 2003 and overtake ownership of the folder. Very Neat!!
Thanks anyway! Peace!
