Windows live messenger reinstall issue

I have a problem with the uninstallation of Live messenger.
It keeps giving me this notice*farm3.static.flickr.com/2074/1985735427_2491a930c7_o.jpg
I think it may have something to do with the clone of my OS that I’m now using due to a system failure
Is it going to be a case of me editing the registry?

1: Install the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility(*download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe)
2: Run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility
3: Remove any instance of Messenger from the list
4: Reinstall Messenger
