Windows as a service?

With Microsoft & other big companies going to the subscription based cloud service, can it be real that Windows operating system is provided as a subscription based service too in the future? Office has been a very critical product in the Microsoft's world. They transferred it to the subscription based service , which kind of makes sense in the times of Google Docs. Can this be mapped to the operating system too? This cloud based service also avoids piracy like streaming does in video/audio files.
