Wifi router/ access point

Hi there,

I need wifi at home. I currently have a 4portLAN ADSL2+ modem at home for BSNL broadband..

What is the main difference between a router and an access point? Is a router an access point with a built in modem?

I was thinking of a wifi N router...
Which company is good? I heard the Cisco Linksys is the best..I will be buying from flipkart.. unless you'll can give me any other alternative..
I would prefer DD WRT support.

I stay in a house with 1 floor.... the area comparable to a 3/4 bedroom flat..

I would want one with a built in modem..

THANKS

What about :
D-Link DSL-2750U Wireless N ADSL2+ 4-Port Wi-Fi Router | Router | Flipkart.com

D-Link DSL-2750U Wireless N ADSL2+ 4-Port Wi-Fi Router

The TP-LINK TD-W8961ND 300Mbps ADSL2+ Wireless with ModemRouter:
TP-LINK TD-W8961ND 300Mbps ADSL2+ Wireless with ModemRouter | Router | Flipkart.com

Price is the same: which one to get?
BOTH DO NOT support DDWRT... But is ddwrt support worth it?

The Dlink has usb support....
The Dlink seems better???

UPDATE: the usb port on the dlink router is only for connecting it to a computer...

I have been using the D Link 2750U for about six months. It's perfect for the area you specified, I've got the same. The 2750U should be able to connect to a 3G dongle via USB port...

No of what i read, it seems like the usb port is used to connect it to a pc if you dont have ethernet

you can also use a printer and some D-link dongle with the usb port but for most of the users it's useless IMO and my suggestion is to stick with the TP Link.

TP Link offers 3 years warranty and talking about service center and how good they are - well it depends on the place you live.
