Why do some music videos have the audio in increased tempo & pitch from original soundtrack?

I have noticed this when watching movies VCD as well. But in DVDs usually the tempo & pitch are same as original soundtrack

Perhaps because the encoding is done at a lower bitrate on VCDs to conserve space?

Actually is CD-R but we used to call it Video CD (logo was printed in movies in earlier days). When DVD came it was major upgrade over VCD :)

I think that is just what the studio decided to mix the audio as.

There is also this - Loudness war - Wikipedia

May be this thread on Reddit might have the explanation you are looking for?? The difference in FPS may be contributing to increases in Pitch by semitone?

I notice that the song ‘Kaun Tuje’ from MS Dhoni movie is in D-minor but the downloaded MP4 (may be DVD rip) that I have of the entire movie, it’s half step up in E-flat minor. I just after a long time watched that MP4 file today and realized this difference.
